My prospective PhD research delves into the realm of plasmonics, exploring the intriguing and complex interactions between plasmonic structures and quantum systems. Plasmonics, with its capability to confine light to dimensions far below the diffraction limit, offers a tantalizing playground to probe and harness quantum effects. In this interdisciplinary convergence, I aim to investigate the resonance and coupling between plasmonic nanocavities and potential quantum emitters like quantum dots.
Who or what inspired you to pursue your research interests?
Growing up, two influences fueled my passion for plasmonics. My high school teacher's deep dive into theoretical physics unveiled the beauty of abstract concepts. Simultaneously, my father's entrepreneurial endeavors in the telecom sector exemplified the tangible impact of these theories. Together, they painted a vivid picture of where theoretical elegance meets practical application, steering me towards the uncharted waters of plasmonics.
