- Galaxy Evolution
- Stellar Formation
While the full scope of the research has not yet been finalised, it is intended to centre around an investigation into the formation of the earliest galaxies using data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Through some computer simulation work, the impact of chemical enrichment properties over star-formation expanded on a galactic scale should be studied. It will be notable to investigate the effects of gas flows and chemical enrichment on galaxies as they evolve over time, and how changing parameters in early galaxies may have large influence over the structure and composition of younger galaxies.
Who or what inspired you to pursue your research interests?
I wish to improve understanding about how the Universe evolved into what we see today. Curiosity should drive all research, with a desire to learn more about how every factor aligned so perfectly to create the world around us. I am keen to continue learning and growing the knowledge we have about the early universe, an interest which I carry through from my undergraduate research.
