In navigating our lives as moral agents, we often find ourselves in situations of uncertainty. Sometimes, this uncertainty prevents us from identifying the right course of action. My PhD explores how we ought to make moral decisions under such conditions. How can we honour our moral obligations while grounding our decisions in our commitments, values, and sense of who we are?
Who or what inspired you to pursue your research interests?
My interest in my research topic emerged when a personal reproductive decision left me asking what makes an action right when we are unsure what to do. This experience drove me to explore the importance of authenticity in reproductive decision-making during my MPhil at UCL. In my research, I hope to shed light on what tools and moral practices can guide us when we make moral decisions under uncertainty.
