Wooden puppets hanging on strings

Francesca Gardner (2022, English) is joining a small team of postgraduate students working on a puppet project under Dr Nicole Sheriko, to be exhibited at the Cambridge Festival 2023.

Produced by Rebekah King, the project involves the historical reconstruction of the magical talking bronze head from Robert Greene's c.1588-92 play Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay, to be exhibited at the Cambridge Festival 2023. As few puppets from the period survive, this will aid Dr Sheriko's research into the challenges and possibilities of early modern theatre.

Francesca is running the project blog and social media, follow these to stay up to date with the project’s progress!
